Firm Partner Jeff Gordon arranged a private viewing of the blockbuster hit “The Meg” with the author of The Meg and life-long friend Steve Alten as a fundraiser for Friends of Foster Children.
Jeff Gordon and Steve Alten met at a summer camp in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania more than 40-years ago where they were teenage camp counselors. Through the years their friendship has grown. Jeff and Steve have competed together on the basketball court, played together in a rock band, and celebrated Steve’s first original novel “MEG” when it was published almost 25 years ago.
Jeff Gordon has been a foster parent for the past nine years. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Friends of Foster Children, a local nonprofit organization whose mission is to transform the lives of children in foster care in Palm Beach County. FCC was created to assist foster children through services, support, and education in order to overcome the effects of child abuse and neglect, so they can experience a healthy, happy childhood and become productive members of society.
“This was a unique opportunity to celebrate Steve’s accomplishment and support an important local charity that supports foster children and their parents. It was a fantastic evening for everyone,” said Jeff Gordon.
