Josh Ferraro’s decision to become an attorney was all in the family, sparked at a young age by preparing for mock trials with lawyers at his father’s firm in Martin County.
As a partner in Lesser, Lesser, Landy & Smith, PLLC, Josh uses his passion for litigation to seek justice for the victims of personal injury and wrongful death throughout the Treasure Coast.
Josh first joined the firm in 2004, immediately after graduating in the top eight percent of his class at the Stetson University College of Law and passing the Florida Bar. At the time, he practiced exclusively in the areas of general personal injury and wrongful death, participating in several high-profile cases on the Treasure Coast.
He left the firm in 2007 to join his father and two brothers in the Stuart-based Ferraro Law Group, broadening his practice to include high net-worth divorce litigation, probate disputes and appellate advocacy. He also created a niche practice assisting family lawyers throughout the state of Florida on the process of distributing pensions at the end of the divorce process in compliance with federal law. Josh continues to advise family law attorneys on these matters to this day.
Josh returned to Lesser, Lesser, Landy & Smith, PLLC in 2013 and became head of the Firm’s Maritime & Cruise Ship Injury Division, representing passengers and crew members who have been injured on vacation or at sea. He also continues to represent clients with claims arising from motor vehicle collisions and slip and falls to abuse of the elderly and individuals with special needs.
Josh contributes a substantial amount of his time working with organizations that benefit Martin County and its residents. He is a founding member and President of the Martin County Police Athletic League, and his history of local service includes roles as Chairman of the Children’s Services Council, President of the Tykes & Teens youth mental health organization and Chair of the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit Court’s Grievance Committee.
A native of Stuart, Josh graduated from Martin County High School before attending the University of Florida where he earned a degree in political science. He and his wife, Gaby, have been married since 2007 and have a daughter, Georgie.
