Since 2003, YSPB has been transforming the lives of young singers in our community by breaking Since 2003, YSPB has been transforming the lives of young singers in our community by breaking down social barriers, developing life skills, providing an outlet for creativity, and fostering good citizenship. Gary has seen firsthand how this organization transforms children’s lives by teaching them a passion for choral music, teaching music theory, instilling confidence in its singers to perform to an audience of all sizes, and so much more. Inspired by YSPB mission and vision, Gary joined their Board of Directors back in 2014 to give back to an organization that helps so many young people through music.
In light of the COVID-19, YSPB continues going forward doing virtual rehearsals with up to 150 of the choir’s singers on one video chat. To quote Elton John: “Music has healing power. It has the ability to take people out of themselves for a few hours.”
During these trying times, music can be a great outlet to help the children in our community cope with the fear and isolation of the current situation.
