Attorney Chuck Geary is coordinating our efforts with Missionary Flights International, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1964 which transports supplies and disaster relief to the islands of the Caribbean. MFI has been providing hurricane relief in the Caribbean for decades, including recent aid relief missions after Hurricanes Matthew, Irma, and Maria. They have existing relationships with the government and trusted distribution outlets on the ground in the Bahamas.
MFI operates out of two hangers on the Treasure Coast flying two turbine-powered DC-3s to the Bahamas, Haiti, the Dominican Republic and other places in need. MFI responds with relief to hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, and other disaster situations. Services also include airlifting injured patients to the United States for medical treatment. MFI transports approximately 250 tons of cargo each year along with mail and medical supplies.
MFI is now accepting donations for the next Bahamas relief flight which will fly as soon as they are cleared for takeoff. The first load will fly into Marsh Harbor Bahamas with 7000 pounds of relief supplies. MFI is already working with contacts on the ground to ensure proper distribution to the places of greatest need.
