On June 12th, 2013 FAU’s Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine Announcedtheir first University Sponsored Residency Program. Over 100 community leaders from partnering hospitals, FAU Board of Directors, FAU Foundation Board of Directors and several distinguished guests attended the reception. Dr. David J. Bjorkman, M.D., M.S.P.H., Dean and Executive Director of Medical Affairs, thanked the partner hospitals who were instrumental in planning and implementing this residency program. Remarks were also given by Dr. Mary Elizabeth Roth, M.D., Vice Dean for Graduate Medical Education and Clinical Affairs, as well as the acting President of FAU Dennis J. Crudele.
Gary S. Lesser, Managing Partner of Lesser, Lesser, Landy & Smith and a member of the FAU Foundation Board, commented that he was proud of FAU Medical School’s Internship Program. “FAU’s medical school is doing so well, and it’s great for our community as well,” noted Gary. “FAU continues to prepare the next generation of highly qualified physicians who because of this program, are now able to continue their career training in Palm Beach County.”
