Client injured in red-light crash; insurance company caves on eve of trial

Felix Jean was stopped for a red light on the I-95 exit ramp at Glades Road in Boca Raton when a pick-up truck slammed into the back of his car. 

Felix immediately felt pain but thought it would pass and went to work instead of seeking medical treatment. Fortunately, his boss saw his discomfort and sent him home to rest. The months that followed brought Felix continued pain, doctors’ visits, and ultimately, fusion surgery on his neck.  

The insurance company gave a low-ball offer and argued that the need for surgery was due to long-standing degenerative changes in Felix’s neck from years of hard labor.

After extensive litigation, the insurance company caved and paid the demand of $500,000 to settle the case on the eve of trial.
