Notable:Legal Aid’s 26th Annual Pro Bono Recognition Evening honors those lawyers and other professionals in Palm Beach County who have provided outstanding volunteer services to: survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence and stalking; abused, neglected and abandoned children; vulnerable and exploited seniors; foster children and youth aging out of foster care; and victims of housing and employment discrimination in 2013.
The theme of this year’s event is “Shaken, Not Stirred…A Bond Affair,” and the evening will include a cocktail reception, fabulous silent auction, buffet dinner, awards ceremony and entertainment.
The Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1949 and dedicated to ensuring equal access to our judicial system to all residents of Palm Beach County. Legal Aid currently operates 18 programs in the practice advocacy areas of Family, Children, Elder, Individual Rights, Health and Community Outreach.
Highlights:This year’s lawyer award recipients include: Pamela Balaguera — Family Law Award; Steven Brannock — Real Property Law Award; Garry Glickman — Elder Law Award; Anne Hinds — Juvenile Law Award; Frank Pilotte — Nonprofit Law Award; Lou Reidenberg — Emeritus Award; Lloyd Schwed — Civil Litigation Award; and Burlington & Rockenbach — Firm Award. Other winners are: the Young Lawyer’s Section of the Palm Beach County Bar Association — Voluntary Bar Association Award; Dr. Karen Severson — Special Services Award; and Heather Lazarus — Suzanne Foley “Serving Justice” Award.
