Throughout his distinguished career, Lesser has been widely recognized as a leader in Florida’s legal and business communities. He served as the 74th President of The Florida Bar after ten years of service on the Florida Bar Board of Governors. He was appointed Chair of the Florida Bar Legislation Committee three years in a row, and served as Chair of the Professional Ethics Committee, the Standing Committee on Advertising, and the Strategic Planning Committee. Lesser also served on the Rules, Disciplinary Review and the Board Review on Professional Ethics Committees.
Lesser is a dedicated community servant and the Founding President of the Jewish Lawyers Association of Palm Beach County. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society, the Executive Board of the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce, and the Board of Directors of The Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County, the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County, the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches, the Economic Council of Palm Beach County, and Young Singers of the Palm Beaches.
Gary has been recognized for his leadership in the legal professional and charitable world, being awarded the Alumni Leadership Award from the University of Miami School of Law, the Luminary Award from the Alpert Jewish Family Services, the Florida Bar Tradition of Excellence Award and the 2024 Sidney A. Stubbs Professionalism Award from the Palm Beach County Bar Association.
