Elise Elder was driving three times the speed limit on June 28, 2024 when she struck and killed Martin Drummond as he rode his bicycle on the Ten Cent Bridge near Sewall’s Point.
Elder, 23, fled the scene, dragging Martin’s bicycle for 1.3 miles before reaching her parents’ house. Her blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit six hours after the crash when deputies arrested her.
The case has drawn widespread attention—not just because of the facts, but because of what didn’t happen that day: she didn’t stop, didn’t call 911, didn’t help.
