There are only three days a year that you can legally launch fireworks in Florida and July 4th is one of them.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, at least 11 people died and an estimated 11,500 were injured in incidents involving fireworks in 2021.
To enjoy your holiday weekend safely, consider these tips:
-Never allow children to play with or ignite fireworks, including sparklers
-Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby in case of a fire
-Light fireworks one at a time and then move back quickly
-Never try to relight fireworks or pick one up that did ignite fully
-Never use fireworks while impaired by drugs or alcohol
