When Kathy Woltz heard a knock on her front door and opened it to see a young man standing there, a prayer was answered. It had been 14 years since she had last seen him. Kathy and her now ex-husband were his foster parents when he was 9 years old. Â
He was one of 17 children, most under the age of 5, Kathy opened her home and heart to him after years of trying to conceive a child. In May 1998, a 12-week-old baby boy was placed in her care and she soon adopted him. Her son is now 26 years old. “God had other plans,” Kathy recalled of her journey to motherhood. “I continue to be in touch with many of the kids and feel honored to be a small part of their lives.”Â

Kathy celebrates two years with our team next month and works in our Stuart office as a legal assistant to Partner Joshua Ferraro. She worked as a legal secretary when she was in her 20s but stopped when she became a foster parent. She said she’s thrilled to be back working in the legal profession and helping people. “Sometimes that’s just giving our clients an ear to listen,” she said. “Knowing I’ve helped someone can instantly make my day better.”
 When she’s not working, Kathy is still working! She took her love of crafting and turned it into a business making custom tumblers, glasses, T-shirts, blankets, and other items using sublimation, direct to film, and UV DTF processes. When she does take some time to herself, she spends it relaxing with friends, listening to Country music, line dancing, and buying more craft supplies!
