The “No Shave November” event held by the Young Lawyers Section of the Palm Beach County Bar Association eases the burden of local cancer patients by paying a portion of their non-medical bills, supplementing basic needs, and providing support.
A cancer diagnosis can destroy the financial health and well-being of a patient and his or her family. While in active treatment, many patients are unable to work and experience a loss of income that can result in catastrophic financial losses and the need to rebuild financial health. Cancer Alliance Fund distributes short-term financial aid for basic living expenses, on behalf of cancer patients who have lost all or a part of their income during active treatment.
Last year “No Shave November” raised $50,000. CAHH relies upon a large group of dedicated volunteers to help them accomplish their mission. They use volunteers in a variety of ways, from miscellaneous office assistance with phone calls and correspondence, to fundraising, event planning, and support. Whatever talent you can offer, they will make every effort to work within your areas of interest and strengths.
