As a licensed foster parent for the past 13 years, Gordon has substantial “on the ground” experience with the foster care system and knows the effect that removal of a child can have on that child and his or her family.
“Friends of Foster Children is the only organization in Palm Beach County that provides wrap around services to families in the dependency system,” Gordon said. “I hope as President to provide leadership that continues the success of the organization and grows it so that we reach every family in Palm Beach County that needs our services.”
The mission of Friends of Foster Children is “Fostering happy childhoods by enriching lives impacted by foster care.” The nonprofit does this through comprehensive advocacy for kinship, foster and adoptive caregivers, as well as providing opportunities to enrich the whole family’s life.
